Help: Identity Element (demo)

This guide explains how to use the interactive features of the Identity Element demo page. It covers navigation, tables, and validation tools available on the page.

Interactive Features

Set Selector

Use the "Choose a set" dropdown to select the set of elements used in the demo. The available sets include a variety of themed collections such as letters, symbols, and emojis. Each set is preloaded with a unique set of elements to explore the identity property.

Changing the set automatically updates the elements displayed in the Cayley table and the validation tables.

Element Count

Use the "Number of elements" dropdown to select the size of the set. This determines the size of the Cayley table and the elements involved in the operation.

Positive Results

The "Positive results" dropdown lets you define how many elements are expected to satisfy the identity property. This affects the results shown in the validation tables.

Cayley Table

The Cayley table displays the operation results for each combination of elements. The cells are color-coded to help distinguish the elements visually.

Tip: Cells highlighted in green indicate that the identity conditions are satisfied.

Navigating Through Steps

Use the navigation controls at the bottom of the page to explore each step:

Note: Each step highlights specific cells, elements, or conditions to help you verify the identity element property.

Conditions and Validation

Element Check Table

This table evaluates whether each element satisfies the identity property. Results are displayed as either "is an identity element" or "is not an identity element".

Condition Check Table

This table checks whether the conditions e * x = x and x * e = x hold true for each element. Results are marked as True or False.
